Ancient Fires is a seminal text by one of the foremost figures in Gaulish Polytheism today.
The book is one of the most complete attempts to explore Gaulish devotion practices and extends effectively our
current understanding of the spiritual underpinnings of the Gaulish polytheistic revival movement.
The book explores not only the hearth culture prevalent in Gaul but also introduces the reader to Gaulish deities
and modern devotional practice.
The discerning reader is going to want to ask what the sources are for any religious tradition, how we know
where we got it. This text answers such questions and moves beyond them to include personal experiences, gnosis
and scholarly exploration that are seminal in modern Druid traditions. The book is comprehensive in its introduction
of Dêwoi and the Gaulish weltanschauung as well as its social structure or Wlatis Toutâc.
However, it is thoroughly accessible to the modern reader interested in reconnecting to the spiritual traditions of
the Gaulish past. The text offers extensive resources to the reader from a pivotal scholar in the reconstruction movement.
